ABOUT ESE EXAM

Applying for ESE exam is a good opportunity for engineering candidates. It is the most important examinations conducted b the UPSC. Though this exam the vacancies of central government job's are being filled by UPSC. Good career and good salary will be there for this job. The candidates who have interest on the subjects will success in this exam.

The candidates who secured in the examination can be promoted to the stage of director general. Engineering services examination is conducted by UPSC for the following engineering branches.

  1. Civil Engineering
  2. Mechanical Engineering
  3. Electrical Engineering
  4. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

Government engineering organisations involved in ESE are -

  • Indian Railway Services of Engineers (IRSE)
  • Central Engineering Services (CES)
  • Military Engineering Services (MES) &
  • 40+ other departmental organizations

Eligibility for ESE exam

The candidate should be a citizen of India.

Age Limit - Applicants have to be within the age span of 21 – 30 Years as on 1st August of the year of examination. 
Education - A Degree in Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent., 
M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics 
or Radio Engineering as special subjects are also acceptable for certain Services / posts only.

The examination is conducted in three Stages -

  • Stage 1 – Preliminary
  • Stage 2 – Mains
  • Stage 3 – Personality Test
Students need to pass step by step to be selected for the opportunity.
