Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)


Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. 
GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Gate syllabus and subjects
General aptitude 
Each subject's test contains 10 questions that test the "general aptitude", apart from the core subject of the discipline.
Technical Subjects
Technical subjects are based on the stream you fill in the time of registration of the exam.
Duration and examination type
The examination is of 3 hours duration, and contains a total of 65 questions worth a maximum of 100 marks. Gate exam are conducted online all over India, every year it's taken place in the month of Feb.
